Review: Discipline Equals Freedom: Field Manual

Discipline Equals Freedom: Field Manual by Jocko Willink My rating: 3 of 5 stars This book is no literary work of art. It isn't poetry in motion or tear jerking stories of battle. It is, though, a great - and quick - read. I'm a slow reader, and I think I finished it in 3-4 hours. Willink has written a solid book-length pep-talk. It isn't one long pep-talk either. It is several, punctuated pep-talks, machine gun firing at the reader in rapid succession and with clear purpose. Willink does a great job conveying his message and purpose. Kudos to the appendix - a powerful connection to the distinct connection between physical health and mental capacity. View all my reviews
